We start with baker's yeast and cultivate it in stainless-steel fermenters, feeding it simple plant-based sugars like molasses.
Isolation
Using mild heat and natural food enzymes, the yeast's own enzymes break down its cell walls, releasing the pure protein within.

We use a high-speed centrifugal process to separate the protein, then washed, pasteurized, and dried into a pure powder.

Our protein begins with a strain of baker’s yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae), the remarkable microorganism that has been a trusted part of our food system for thousands of years in bread and beverages. Instead of a field, we cultivate our yeast in a pure, controlled environment similar to a craft brewery, feeding it simple nutrients like molasses from sugar beets. This clean fermentation process gives us complete control over quality, ensuring our source is free from the pesticides, heavy metals, and pollutants often found in traditional agriculture.
From there, we transform the whole yeast into a pure protein powder. We use gentle heat and the yeast’s own natural enzymes to unlock the valuable protein from within the cell. Next, a high-speed spinning process carefully separates the pure protein from everything else. This is what makes it a protein ‘isolate’—we remove the yeast cell wall and other components, leaving behind a smooth, neutral-tasting powder with no active or inactive yeast. I've tired SO MANY protein powders. The whey powders trigger migraines. The pea proteins are thick and gross. And so many other have nasty ingredients, even lead. Most I've had to choke down.
BUT enter Spacemilk!! It mixes easily and is smooth and the unflavored is TRULY unflavored (unlike so many others). So I can mix it with just water and drink it or mix it with my matcha and it doesn't over power the subtle flavor. And it agrees with my body. No headaches. No weird stomach heaviness or yuckiness. Highly recommend

Spacemilk is a fine white powder with a neutral taste. It works well in any flavor smoothie - adds protein without changing the taste. It can be a little chalky at high concentrations but not unpleasantly so.
Beats whey - whey is the gold standard for protein supplements. Spacemilk provides equivalent nutrition, and equivalent taste and is way better on sustainability. (No farting cows, not highly processed.)
Beats plant-based - Spacemilk beats plant-based on nutrition, taste and sustainability. Face it, plant-based protein is grainy and tastes terrible, and has to be overpowered by stabilizers, flavoring and sweeteners just to make it drinkable. Also, plant based protein is pitched as the "sustainable" alternative, but protein is only a small fraction (25%) of a pea (or soybean, or other plant-based source). When the protein is extracted and concentrated (often using chemical solvents), the rest of the pea is fed to . . . . cows and other livestock. How sustainable is that?

I'm a vegan but had been unhappy with the vegan protein options available. Many have high lead levels. They also tend to be less complete proteins than whey. On both those metrics, Spacemilk easily beats out other vegan proteins.
Spacemilk tests its products for heavy metals and sells one of the cleanest proteins on the market. It's an amazing product, for vegans and non-vegans alike!

Been looking for a protein powder that isn't whey but still has the complete amino acid for a while now. This one takes the cake. Not only is the label literally one ingredient, but it is the first protein powder that doesn't bloat me at all. I have had a double serving before working out and felt perfectly fine!
